Suntory Roku Gin - One Hundred Years of Dream

After much anticipation and speculation, Roku Gin has finally reached our shores. Roku Gin takes us through a journey of four seasons. Made with 6 Japanese botanicals combined with the traditional 8 to form the final product - an authentic Japanese Gin.

At 20, Shinjiro overcame numerous hardships to make his dream a reality, creating wine, whisky and brandy, and launching Hermes Gin – the first Suntory gin – in 1936. Shinjiro and his successors continued to work hard on building a deep knowledge of distilling alcohol. The creation and perfection of ROKU are based on more than 100 years of expertise.

The six natural Japanese botanicals are embossed on the hexagonal bottle that symbolises ROKU (which means 'six' in Japanese). The bottle label is printed on washi paper, further highlighting Japanese craftsmanship and sentiment.

We were delighted to be invited to the launch where we got to undergo an in-depth understanding of the wonders of this beautiful crafted Gin.

Being a part of the Suntory family, all communications surrounding the brand Roku Gin was of course tastefully designed and charmingly vibrant. My personal favourite highlight of the event was of course these gorgeous ladies.

We were taken through a step-by-step process of mixing our own Gin & Tonic, learning how to make the Roku G&T perfect serve with 6 matchstick thin slices of ginger.

Roku Gin will be participating in the Gin Jubilee this year and we are looking forward to visiting its booth and so many others tomorrow at Gin Lane Singapore, Amoy Street. See all you G&T lovers there tomorrow and should you fall in love with it like we do and would like to get your hands on a bottle or two, you know where to find the best Gin deals in town.
